27 February 2026 marked the successful completion of the REHDA Youth Commercial Tour Series: Executive Spaces 2026, an exclusive and immersive experience designed to provide participants with first-hand insights into the planning, positioning, and performance of premium commercial developments.
The tour commenced at Merdeka 118, Malaysia’s tallest landmark and a symbol of national ambition. Participants were given a rare opportunity to explore the building’s design vision, development journey, and operational considerations behind a project of such scale and complexity. The session offered valuable perspectives on managing large-scale commercial assets in a competitive urban environment.
The group then proceeded to The MET Corporate Towers, where participants gained insights into the positioning of Grade A office spaces within Kuala Lumpur’s evolving commercial landscape. The sharing session highlighted tenant expectations, workspace trends, and the importance of integrating accessibility, sustainability, and long-term asset value in office developments.
Next, participants visited GDP Architects, where the focus shifted to the architectural philosophy behind commercial spaces. The session provided a deeper understanding of how design thinking, functionality, and placemaking come together to create corporate environments that are both commercially viable and future-ready.
The highlight of the day was the highly anticipated “Voice of Experience” session with Datuk Seri (Dr) Michael KC Yam. In a candid and engaging dialogue, he shared reflections on leadership, navigating market cycles, managing risk, and transitioning from corporate leadership to building developments of his own. Participants gained valuable insights into long-term vision, resilience, and the evolving responsibilities of developers in today’s landscape.
The tour concluded with meaningful networking among participants, speakers, and hosts. The positive energy and thoughtful discussions underscored the importance of knowledge-sharing within the industry.
Participants shared encouraging feedback, noting that the tour successfully bridged strategic theory with practical, real-world commercial development insights.
A heartfelt thank you to all host organisations and speakers for their warm hospitality, openness, and generous sharing of expertise. We look forward to continuing to curate impactful learning experiences for REHDA Youth members in the future.
